Privacy

Privacy policy

This page describes how PixelDrop currently handles files and data.

Files you select

PixelDrop does not upload, transmit, or store any file you select. Resizing and format conversion both run locally in your browser using the Canvas API -- your images never leave your device. A background-removal tool was previously built and removed; if a future tool ever needs a different approach, this page will be updated before that tool ships to say so clearly.

Temporary tool preferences

PixelDrop may temporarily remember non-sensitive tool preferences -- such as your last-used resize mode, output format, or quality setting -- in your current browser tab, using sessionStorage. These preferences expire after approximately 30 minutes or when the tab is closed, whichever happens first. Uploaded and processed image files are never stored this way -- only small preference values.

Accounts

PixelDrop does not require or offer account creation, sign-in, or authentication.

Cookies and local storage

PixelDrop stores your light/dark theme preference in your browser's local storage so it can be remembered between visits, and temporary tool preferences in sessionStorage (see above). No tracking cookies or third-party analytics are used.

Third parties

No data is shared with third parties, because no data is collected.

Changes to this policy

If PixelDrop adds features that change how files or data are handled, this policy will be updated to accurately describe them before they ship.
