Switch between JPG, PNG, and WebP entirely in your browser. Dimensions stay untouched — only the format (and quality, for JPG/WebP) changes.

Your images are converted locally in your browser and are not uploaded.

How it works

A simple three-step flow

  1. 1

Drop in your JPG, PNG, or WebP images, or browse from your device.

  2. 2

Pick the output format (JPG, PNG, or WebP) and, for JPG/WebP, a quality level.

  3. 3

Download each converted file, or grab everything at once as a ZIP.

Conversion FAQ

Which formats can I convert between?

JPG, PNG, and WebP as both input and output today. HEIC and AVIF are on the roadmap but aren't supported yet — they won't appear as an option until they're genuinely implemented and tested.

Is converting to JPG or WebP lossless?

No. JPG and WebP are lossy formats — re-encoding trades a little visual detail for a smaller file, controlled by the quality slider. Converting to PNG is lossless.

What happens to transparent PNGs converted to JPG?

JPG has no transparency channel, so transparent pixels are flattened onto a white background. PixelDrop warns you before this happens. Converting to WebP keeps transparency intact.

Does this remove metadata like GPS location?

Yes. Re-encoding every image from its raw pixel data strips embedded metadata such as EXIF, GPS, and ICC profiles as an inherent side effect of how canvas export works — there's no separate metadata setting.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

Yes — drop in up to 20 images (150 MB total) and convert them together, then download individually or as a single ZIP.
